Logs for Dales homes

If a stove is your main heat, the XL tonne bag holds the most logs and means fewer deliveries up the dale. The standard tonne bag of mixed hardwood suits evening fires. Tell us about narrow lanes, steep drives or tight gateways in the Delivery instructions box at checkout, so we can plan where to leave the bag.

Areas we cover in Wensleydale

We deliver to Leyburn, Harmby, Wensley and Middleham, and up the dale to Redmire, Castle Bolton, Aysgarth, West Burton, Askrigg, Bainbridge, Hawes and Gayle. Every DL8 postcode is in our free area, including Bedale. Down the Ure we also cover Ripon, and to the south Skipton and Harrogate.

Smoke control in Wensleydale

North Yorkshire Council says there are currently no smoke control areas in the former Richmondshire district, which includes Leyburn, Middleham, Hawes and the rest of Wensleydale. The former Hambleton district, which includes Bedale, has none either. So our logs suit any wood-burning or multi-fuel stove, or an open fire.

  • Burn only dry wood. Defra advises 20% moisture or less, and every log we sell is kiln dried below that.
  • The council can still act if smoke from any fire becomes a nuisance to neighbours, so keep the fire burning hot and clean.
